'Uddomi Nari' SME fair begins at Chandpur to celebrate Bangabandhu's Birth Centenary

With the aspiration to promote sustainable entrepreneurship for women entrepreneurs of Chandpur SME sector, Chandpur Chamber of Commerce and Opsora International jointly organized an eight-day fair 'Uddomi Nari' at the city's Shahid Minar premises.

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, MP, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest. In the inauguration ceremony, Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman, Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation - PKSF was also present as special guest.

The country's largest mobile financial service provider, bKash, is sponsoring the fair.

'Uddomi Nari' has been organized for the women as a remembrance of the Father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's philosophy and ideology for the rights and developments of women. In this fair, the women entrepreneurs of SME will showcase and sale their handicrafts. Women from different areas including Chandpur, Dhaka, Comilla have participated in the fair.

In the inauguration ceremony, Md. Nurul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Planning; Md. Majedur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur; Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Superintendent of Police of Chandpur district, Monowara Hakim Ali, President of Chattogram Women's Chamber of Commerce; Kamal Quadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash; Major General (retd) Sheikh Md Monirul Islam, Chief External and Corporate Affairs Officer of bKash; Monira Akhter, Managing Director of Opsora International; Mayor Nasir Uddin Ahmed; Abu Nayeem Patowari, General Secretary of Chandpur Awami League; Ikram Chowdhury, President of Chandpur Press Club and many other respected officials were present.
