Open a bKash Account through the bKash App
Bring the items mentioned below to your nearest Digital registration point to open a bKash Account:

Procedure:
- Go to the bKash app and tap on Login/Register.
- Select the operator and enter your mobile number.
- Proceed to the next step with the verification code sent to the mobile number.
- Read and agree to the terms and proceed ahead.
- Take a photo of the front and back of your National Identity Card.
- Check the required information and proceed.
- Take a picture of your face with the phone's camera.
- Then submit the information and proceed.
- Wait for the verification SMS. bKash may take up to 48 hours to verify this information.
- After receiving the confirmation SMS, PIN must be set within 72 hours. To set a PIN, go to the app and tap on 'Set Your PIN' and confirm with a 5-digit PIN.
- Now login to the bKash app.

After opening your bKash account, you need to activate your bKash mobile menu.

After successfully following these steps, your mobile number will become your bKash Account number. Initially, you will be able to use Cash In, Mobile Recharge & Receive Money services in your new bKash Account. However, after your KYC Form verification is completed (within 3-5 working days), you will be able to Cash Out, Mobile Recharge, make Payments & enjoy all other services of bKash. Once your Account is fully active, dial *247# and enjoy the bKash services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customers will be able to avail all the services when they open an account from the Customer Care Center or Customer Care.
Open a bKash Account through the MyGP App!
To open bKash account from MyGP App customers need below items:
- Grameenphone Mobile Number
- MyGP App installed in Mobile Phone
- National ID Card's original copy
Process:
- Login to MyGP App, then tap into Services icon from bottom
- Tap bKash Registration icon under Recharge & Balance menu
- Customer MyGP App login number will be automatically selected
- In case of other Grameenphone number bKash account registration, you need to login from that Grameenphone number into MyGP App
- Proceed to the next step with the verification code sent to the mobile number
- Read and agree to the terms & conditions and proceed
- Take a photo of the front and back of your National Identity Card
- Check the required information and proceed
- Take a picture of your face with the phone's camera
- Submit the information and proceed

Terms & Conditions:
- Customers will receive instant cashback when they set their PIN through the app (within 72 hours of opening an account) and they will get instant cashback again if they log in to the app and performs first mobile recharge from the app.
- Once a customer's app is activated, he/she will be eligible to avail special offer and continue to earn the Cashback on subsequent specified transactions for up to 60 days from the day of app activation.
- Offers excluding Cashback on PIN set, login, and first-time Mobile Recharge will be credited to the customer's bKash account within 3 working days.

To avoid any extra data charge, we suggest you to download and use bKash app through a free Wi-Fi network or by buying data packages. You might incur unwanted data charge if you use pay as you go (PAYG).

Using bKash through bKash app is faster, easier and simpler.

bKash App now has a Guest Mode, which will allow non-account holders to explore the features and services bKash has to offer. You will be asked to Log In or Register a New Account before performing any financial transactions.
- How to open a bKash account?
You can open a bKash account from the bKash app by choosing New Account Registration. All you will need is your NID. You can fill in the eKYC information yourself. During registration, you are required to scan your NID and take a clear picture of your face with your phone camera. In most cases, it will take a few minutes (up to 48 hours in exceptional cases) for bKash to verify the information, and open the account.

Your existing bKash account PIN will be your bKash account PIN for the bKash app as well.
- SIM placement
To log in to bKash app, have an active SIM card placed in SIM slot 1 of your handset.

- Can anyone access my bKash account from the bKash app in my handset and do transactions?
As long as only you know your bKash PIN, and you have the handset (to which, the verification code will be sent) with you, nobody else can access your bKash account from their bKash app.
- What happens if I lose my handset which has bKash app installed in it?
No one will be able to log in to your bKash account without your bKash PIN when your phone is stolen. For your financial security, you will be automatically logged out of the app after a specific period of inactivity and if anyone wants to log in afterwards, s/he must log in with your bKash PIN.

Post-Installation
- Guest Mode
- Open your bKash app from the home screen.
- Allow bKash to make and manage phone calls, so that bKash app can confirm that you have the active SIM card placed in your handset. bKash needs this information to ensure the financial security aspect.
- Allow bKash to access your location so bKash app can show you relevant offers based on your location and enrich your experience.
- Select your language between Bangla and English. You can change this anytime later from app settings.
- After logging in successfully, you won’t find the guest mode anymore. You will directly land in the log-in screen to input PIN
- You can browse bKash App in Guest Mode and view the following segments on the Home Screen;
- Core Features Segment - bKash’s core services such as Send Money, Mobile Recharge, Payment, Pay Bill, Cash Out etc are in this segment. In Guest Mode, you will be able to access core features till a certain point before you are prompted to log in (e.g. you can enter Pay Bill, and see the available billers) You need to Log In or Register to perform any financial transactions.
- Promo Banner - The most prominent of bKash offers at the moment will be shown here, based on your location (both in Guest and Logged-in Mode), when location permission is given. A universal banner that applies to everyone irrespective of the location will be shown in the absence of location data.
- Offers - This section will contain the different offers (cash back, discounts at Merchant stores, digital payment options like Pathao, Shohoz, offers for ecommerce websites, Mobile Recharge offers, Pay Bill offers, Remittance offers etc.) that are relevant for you based on your location for both Guest Mode and Logged-in Mode. In the absence of location access permission, a universal set applicable for all locations will be shown. You will be able to see the details and information of an offer by tapping on it
- Explore - It will feature the different use cases of bKash, relating to its network of Merchants, billers, and other partners (e.g. Pay BTCL Bill with bKash, Add Money to bKash from Mastercard). Upon tapping on these items, you will be taken to the relevant flow (e.g. upon tapping on Pay BTCL Bill with bKash, you will be taken to the biller list of Pay Bill, where you will be prompted to log-in).
- Navigation bar - This bottom navigation bar will include Home, Scan QR, and Inbox features.
- Logging in for the first time
- Enter your registered bKash account number.
- You will be sent a Verification Code via SMS.
- Code will be auto-filled if you use an Android device.
- If you use an iOS device, you need to confirm the device log in by dialing *247#. You need to complete the log in process in 2 minutes.
- gYou will get the verification code within a specific time. If you don’t receive a code, tap on Resend Code. You will receive another code via SMS.
- If your account status is active, you can log in with your valid PIN.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions of the bKash app to continue.
- Choose the language from English or Bangla
- Set your profile picture by taking a photo or choosing one from your phone. Remember, this does not necessarily have to be your Customer KYC photo. You can change this anytime later on from app settings. The app will ask for your permission to access your phone’s camera. Allow the access if you want to take a photo for your profile picture. If you want to choose a photo from your phone’s gallery to set as profile picture, you have to allow the app permission to access your gallery.
- Choose whether you want your profile picture to be visible to other bKash app users.
- Set your profile name. Remember, this does not necessarily have to be your Customer KYC name. This name will be on your app only, and will not be visible to other bKash app users during any transaction. You can change this anytime later on from app settings.
- You are now ready to use your bKash app.
- You can use bKash App in Logged In Mode and view the following segments on the Home Screen;
- Core Features Segment - bKash’s core service segment include Send Money, Mobile Recharge, Cash Out and Payment on the first tab, and by swiping left you can see Pay Bill, Add Money and Movie Tickets.
- My bKash: This segment will have your most frequently used services and features giving you a quick access and act as shortcuts, making your life easier.

- Registration
- Tap on Log In / New Account Registration
- Select New Account Registration from the bottom modal
- Enter Phone Number
- Select your current MNO
- Enter Verification Code sent to your number visa SMS to proceed ( Verification code will auto apply in android phones)
- Choose your preferred language from English or Bangla
- Select I Agree after viewing Terms and Conditions
- You can view Help Texts and select Take NID Photos to proceed
- Place the front side of your NID inside the frame and take a clear picture. Select Submit to proceed to take picture of the back-side of NID. If picture is not clear, select Return and take the picture again. Select Submit again after taking a clear picture of the back-side to proceed.
- Review the NID information that is auto-populated from the NID picture and select Next to proceed
- Fill Additional Information such as your Source of Fund, Occupation, etc.
- View instructions on how to take photo and select Take a Photo
- Face the camera, make sure you have adequate lighting, hold the camera with your face placed within the frame. Your face will be scanned and the photo will be taken automatically.
- Select Confirm to submit all the information
- Once your account is created, you can log in using your account number (the phone number used to register the account).
- PIN setting steps;
- *247#> Activate bKash Menu> Enter 5 digit PIN> Confirm PIN
- You can log in to bKash app by using your account number (the phone number used to register the account) and your PIN.
- Logging Out
- Tap on the bKash menu (bKash bird) on the top-right corner.
- Tap on Log Out.
- Select Yes to log out; No to stay in the app.
- Auto Logout (Session Timeout)
- For your financial security, you will be automatically logged out of the app after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- You will have to log in again using your bKash PIN.
- Repeat Login
After first time onboarding, simply input your bKash PIN to log in for every future occasion.
- Checking Balance
- Tap on the Tap for Balance icon below your profile name on the home screen.
- Your current balance will appear, and will disappear after a few seconds to ensure your data protection.
- Cash In/Add Money
- You can go to your nearest Agent point to cash in (add e-money to your bKash wallet), to be able to enjoy other bKash services.
- Or you can choose to add money from your bank account or card, without going to an Agent point
- Send Money Process
- Tap on Send Money icon from home screen.
- For the first time, the app will ask for your permission to access your phone contacts. Allow bKash app to access your phone contacts, if you want to easily select any number from your contacts for Send Money.
- Enter name or select recipient from your contacts or input number. If there are multiple numbers saved against one contact, tap on “See All Numbers”, and then select the desired number. For Send Money, the recipient has to be a registered bKash customer with an active account status.
- Enter amount on the next screen. Your available balance is shown below for your convenience.
- Reference is optional. You can enter letters, numbers and space within 50 characters.
- Enter your bKash PIN.
- Unlike USSD, the transaction is not complete yet. Check the recipient’s information, total amount (including the service charge), projected new balance if the transaction goes through, and the reference (if any). If you need to change anything, you can go back and edit. If everything seems fine, Tap and Hold for a few seconds to confirm the transaction.
- If the transaction is successful, you will receive a confirmation receipt.
- If the transaction fails, you will see the relevant error message.
- Mobile Recharge
- Tap on Mobile Recharge icon from home screen.
- For the first time, the app will ask for your permission to access your phone contacts. Allow bKash app to access your phone contacts, if you want to easily select any number from your contacts for Mobile Recharge.
- Select your own number under My Account tab, if you want to recharge your own mobile number.
- If you want to recharge another person’s mobile number, enter name or select recipient from your contacts or input number. If there are multiple numbers saved against one contact, tap on “See All Numbers”, and then select the desired number.
- Select mobile operator of the desired number. This will be the default mobile operator for the selected number. If the operator is switched, you will have to change it from the amount screen, by tapping on the edit button on the operator logo
- Select amount from the Mobile Recharge amount shortcuts or manually enter amount on the next screen. Your available balance is shown below for your convenience. You can avail recharge-based internet, voice and bundle offers of the selected mobile operator (MNOs available at this time are; Airtel, Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi and Teletalk numbers.
- To avail a bundle, voice or internet offer, you have to select your preferred offer from any of the tabs.
- Most offers are for prepaid users. If there is any postpaid offer, it will be marked as a postpaid
- Select Prepaid or Postpaid according to your mobile subscription type.
- Enter your bKash PIN.
- Unlike USSD, the transaction is not complete yet. Check the recipient’s information, total amount, projected new balance if the transaction goes through, selected mobile subscription type, and the network operator. If you need to change anything, you can go back and edit. If everything seems fine, Tap and Hold for a few seconds to submit your Mobile Recharge request.
- If the transaction is successful, you will receive a confirmation receipt.
- If the transaction fails, you will see the relevant error message.
- Cash Out Process
- Tap on Cash Out icon from home screen.

- Add Money (Card to bKash)

- If my data connection goes away in the middle of a transaction, then what will be the result?
You may have to re-initiate the transaction. Please be assured that if the transaction amount is deducted from your balance, it means the transaction has gone through, even if you cannot see a confirmation receipt due to network failure. You can always check your Transaction History from Statements to confirm the transaction.
- If I did not allow permission to access contacts/gallery/camera the first time, what will happen? If I want to allow the permission later, what will be the steps?
bKash app will display message prompts for enabling relevant permission, if user has not allowed permission before. User can then follow the in-app instructions to enable the permission.

- When logging into the new bKash app, the limit for the verification code (OTP) ending is 30 seconds.
- You can view the information about transactions of the current month and the two previous months as a brief transaction statement.
