Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, in association with bKash Limited, the largest mobile financial service provider in the country, today, expanded its book reading program in Kushtia, aiming to enlighten the future generations through book reading
The program was arranged at Mohini Mohan Vidyapith Auditorium where books were handed over to the students of different institutions of the district including Mohini Mohan Vidyapith, Milpara Girls’ High School, Mir Mosharraf Hossain High School, Kushtia High School and Sirajul Haque Muslim School.
Humayun Kabir, Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs of bKash, MA Muhit, the only Bangladeshi two times Everest winner from Bangladesh, Md. Shiraj Uddin Malitha, Principal of Mohini Mohan Vidyapith, Shabana Yesmin, Assistant Headmistress of Khustia High School were present at the program.
The program was conducted by Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Suman, Joint Director of Biswo Shahitto Kendro.
bKash has been supporting the ‘Nationwide Enrichment (Book Reading) Program’ of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro since 2014 and provided more than two lac books to the program. This year, 40000 books have already been distributed till now. The books are to be distributed among 400 schools nationwide.
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro has been carrying out various outreach programs for school and college students in the last 40 years with a dream of building an enlightened society. The nationwide enrichment program (Book Reading) is the most prominent program of the organisation with raging success. Currently, the book reading program covers around 200,000 students of 2,000 educational institutions across the country.
Launched in 2011, bKash, a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US based Money in Motion, International Finance Corporation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Ant Financial, operates as a payment service provider offering broad range of mobile/digital financial services under the regulation of Bangladesh Bank.
