MGH Restaurants Private Limited (MRPL) and bKash Limited signed an Agreement recently (November 30, 2011), which will allow customers of Nando\s and Barista Café to make payments using bKash. Kamal Quadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash and Mr. Ahmed Abu Insaf, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of MRPL, signed the Agreement on behalf of their organizations at Nando\s Restaurant in Gulshan.
This Agreement will facilitate the new and innovative system of payment through mobile phones using bKash wallets that reside electronically in customers\ phones, without the use of cash or credit card. The bKash payment system is simple, safe and swift.
Currently, there are three outlets of Barista Lavazza cafe and two of Nando\s Peri Peri Chicken Restaurant in Dhaka where customers can avail this facility of making mobile payments. All upcoming Nando\s and Barista Lavazza outlets will also have the same facility.
bKash Limited, a subsidiary of BRAC Bank is offering mobile financial services to the banked and unbanked people of Bangladesh. It provides them with the ultimate time-saving, user-friendly and secure solutions for financial operations via their mobile phones in even the deepest rural or hard-to-reach areas. A customer can register for a bKash account at any authorized Agent by filling in a simple form with necessary documents. She can then “cash in” her desired amount into her bKash account as electronic money at the Agent point. She can now transact using her wallet to send money across the country or make payments at any outlet which accepts bKash. Currently, bKash has over 40,000 registered users and 3000 agents across Bangladesh.
Also present at the Agreement signing were Syed Rumman Ali and Mr. Mohith-ul-Bari of MRPL. Mobasher Ur Rahman, Head of Institutional Development, Adel Ahmed, Head of business Development, Mohammad Azmal Huda, Head of Business Solutions and Operations, Sania Mahmood, Head of Marketing and Md. Mahedi Hasan, Head of Finance and Company Secretary from bKash were also present.
