Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the distribution of Tk 2,500 each through mobile financial services (MFS) to 50 lakh distressed families amid the pandemic. She inaugurated the project through video conferencing from her official residence Gono Bhaban.

15 lac distressed families will receive the cash aid through bKash before Eid-ul-Fitr. It will bring relief to those families during this Ramadan and help to address emergency needs.

The beneficiaries do not need to bear any charge for Cash Out. Government will contribute 15 tk and bKash will contribute 31.25 tk of the total Cash Out charge. bKash authority is glad to be a part of this noble initiative through this contribution. This financial aid has been ensured to reach the right person through NID verification. All preparations have been made so that the families can Cash Out without any hassle.

In her inaugural address, Prime Minister said that it is the benefit of Digital Bangladesh when people do not need to receive money physically, neither do they have to go to anyone to seek help. Instead, they can get the financial aid directly to their mobile banking accounts.

A fisherman from Barguna district and a rickshaw-van puller from Shariatpur district were overwhelmed after receiving PM's financial support and thanked the PM wholeheartedly through video conferencing.

Kamal Quadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash said that government’s vision to build digital Bangladesh makes today's great initiative of sending financial aid to the marginalized families successful even in this pandemic. bKash is proud to be a part of such noble initiative. During the pandemic, bKash is accomplishing the task of disbursing government incentivized salaries to the RMG workers. We believe, the beneficiaries of Prime Minister’s financial aid can easily avail Cash Out service from the nearest bKash agent points without any hassle or additional cost.
