bKash donates BDT 1 million to BURO Healthcare Foundation to facilitate healthcare for the marginalized

bKash has donated BDT 1 million to BURO Healthcare Foundation of BURO Bangladesh, one of the leading microfinance institutions in the country, to facilitate healthcare for the marginalized people.

BURO Bangladesh has been working to provide low-cost medical services to the rural and poor people through BURO Health Care Foundation. The donation from bKash will be spent for the rural and poor people’s health care.

Major General Sheikh Md Monirul Islam (retd), Chief External and Corporate Affairs Officer, and Ali Ahmmed, Chief Commercial Officer of bKash recently handed over the donation to Md. Sirajul Islam, Director (Special Program), and Rahela Zakir, Director (BURO Health Care Foundation and BURO Craft) of BURO Bangladesh. Other officials from both the organizations were also present at the event.

BURO Bangladesh, established in 1990, is one of the leading MFIs in the country, which is working for the socio-economic development of around 2 million members. Currently, BURO Bangladesh members can receive and repay loans along with depositing installments of savings scheme through bKash. BURO Bangladesh receives loan and savings scheme through bKash from its 1062 branches across the country.
