bKash is made in Bangladesh. The organization puts maximum emphasis on providing quality service, ensuring customer security, and expanding the horizons of financial inclusion. Using home-grown talent, state-of-the-art technology, inclusive finance, and a large distribution network, bKash is spearheading the MFS sector of Bangladesh as well as setting an example for the world of fintech. And, by democratizing the payment industry, bKash is significantly contributing to creating a digital ecosystem.
In 2011, bKash started operating by addressing customers’ pain points of sending and receiving money with the facility to make Cash Out from Agent Points and make payments at Merchant Points. Gradually more customer-focused and complex services started coming in, including mobile recharge, utility bill payment, money transfer between bank/card and bKash, paperless self-registration solution e-KYC, e-Ticketing, Digital Nano Loan from the bank, Savings schemes of banks/financial institutions, fee payment of govt. services and educational institutions, insurance payment, payroll disbursement, Donations, Personal Retail Accounts, Business Dashboard, and the facility to bring payments of freelancers.
As part of this impactful journey, bKash has gained local and global recognition. Every achievement has only inspired the company to grow further and bring more innovation and diverse services.
Asiamoney Award (2022): bKash won the Asiamoney ‘Best for Digital Solutions in Bangladesh 2022’ Award.
Best Brand (2019, 20, 21): bKash has been selected as the country’s Best Brand among top multinational and local brands for three consecutive years in 2019, 2020, and 2021 through consumer surveys by Bangladesh Brand Forum. bKash also remains the ‘Most Loved Brand’ in the Mobile Financial Services category for the 5th time in a row.
Best Employer (2020, 21): According to Nielson’s Campus Track Survey, bKash emerged as the no. 1 “Employer of Choice” among major multinational and local companies across all industries in 2020 and 2021.
Best Financial Institution (2021): bKash has been honored as the ‘Best Financial Institution of the Year 2021’ for exemplary contribution to the country’s financial inclusion in the prestigious ‘DHL-The Daily Star - Bangladesh Business Awards’.
Fintech Award (2021): bKash won the first-ever Bangladesh Fintech Award 2021, organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum.
Innovation Award for Pay Bill service (2021): At Bangladesh Innovation Award 2021, organized by Bangladesh Innovation Conclave, bKash won the ‘Best Process Innovation’ award for ‘Pay Bill Service Experience’ for bringing ease and safety in bill payment.
PCI-DSS certification (2021): Behind being recognized by industry-leading accolades lies bKash’s stringent focus on ensuring customer satisfaction and security. As a result, bKash achieved a distinct benchmark of compliance - “Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards v3.2.1” for maintaining the highest level of data security for customers in 2021 as the first MFS provider in Bangladesh.
Cyber Drill excellence (2021): Among 38 financial institutions, bKash secured the 2nd position at the Cyber Drill 2021, organized by Bangladesh Government's e-Government Computer Incident Response Team (BGD e-GOV CIRT) for enhancing the cyber incident handling capacity of financial institutions.
bKash in Fortune 50 list (2017): In 2017, bKash was ranked as the 23rd company in Fortune Magazine’s annual “Change the World” list among the top 50 companies across the world for making changes based on social issues. bKash was the only Bangladeshi brand in that list alongside global giants like JP Morgan Chase, Apple, Novartis, Walmart, Toyota, Nestle, Unilever, Microsoft, Volvo, IBM, American Express and Dell.
Asia’s Best Employer (2017): bKash won ‘Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards 2017’ in its 8th edition, ‘12th Employer Branding Awards’ by Employer Branding Institute - India.
Manthan Award (2014): bKash won the Manthan Award in the “Digital Inclusion for Development” category by Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF).
