Now Reset your bKash PIN by yourself
No need to worry if you forget your bKash account’s PIN number. Now you can reset the PIN yourself through the bKash App or by dialing *247# or by calling 16247.
PIN Reset from the bKash App:
For Android Users:
- Tap on 'Forgot PIN?' from the app's login screen
- Tap on the 'Reset PIN' option
- The verification code will be added automatically.
- Then tap on the confirm button
- Then complete the face scanning process as per the mentioned rules
- Wait without closing the app during verification
- Enter the temporary PIN number sent by bKash and tap on the confirm button
- Enter a new 5-digit PIN number of your choice
- Confirm with the new PIN number and log in to the app again to complete the process
For iPhone Users - Tap on the 'Forgot PIN?' from the app's login screen
- Tap on the 'Reset PIN' option
- Tap on the *247# button shown on the pop-up
- Go to My bKash menu and press '8' to confirm the PIN reset
- After confirming the PIN reset, return to the app and complete the process
Be aware of the following when resetting the PIN:
- Customers can attempt to reset the PIN 3 times within 24 hours. PIN reset cannot be attempted through the app for the next 8 hours, whether the third attempt is successful or unsuccessful.
- Customers will get two minutes to scan their faces by following the instructions.
- The entire verification process may take up to 5 minutes. But if the customer returns to the previous page during the scanning process, the PIN Reset attempt will fail.
- If a customer sets a new PIN, they cannot set the PIN again through any channel for the next 2 hours.
- Customers who have registered to open a bKash account using any ID (passport, driving license, etc.) other than their National Identity Card cannot reset the PIN through the app.
- Customers will have 8 seconds to learn each face scanning gesture.
- If the bKash account is not registered with a National Identity Card, the account holder will see a banner stating that the PIN cannot be reset through the app. It will also mention the other option for PIN Reset by dialing *247#.
- If the app is closed or deleted during the face scanning process, the PIN Reset attempt will fail, and the customer will have to start it all over again.
- Customers will be able to see that the verification process has failed and will also receive a Push Notification.
- After restarting the app during ongoing verification, the customer has to enter his phone number and OTP. After successful OTP verification, the customer can proceed to the next step.
- If the temporary PIN or new PIN setting time expires, the PIN cannot be reset from the app or USSD.
- If the customer goes back from the temporary PIN setting page, the app needs to be restarted.
To reset your PIN by dialing 16247:
- Call 16247
- Select the language (1 for Bengali and 2 for English)
- Press 1 to reset your PIN manually
- After pressing 1
- To reset your PIN, you need your National Identity Card number and recent outgoing transaction information
- Type the 10, 13 or 17 digit number of your National Identity Card, then press #
- Select any of the recent outgoing transaction types from the last 30 days:
- For Send Money, press 1For Cash Out, press 2
- For Payment, press 3
- For Pay Bill, press 4
- For bKash to Bank, press 5
- And if you have not made any outgoing transaction, then, press 6
- Now type the amount of your transaction and press #
- Your bKash account PIN Reset completed.
You will receive a temporary PIN via SMS in a few moments, which you will need to use within 72 hours to set your preferred PIN by dialing *247# or from the bKash App.
- To set your PIN by dialing *247#, first type 1 and go to the ‘Change PIN’ option from ‘My bKash’.
- From there, go to the ‘Enter Temporary/Old PIN’ option and enter the temporary PIN received in the SMS.
- After that, enter your preferred 5-digit PIN and confirm it again, and your PIN will be set.
When setting a new PIN, it must be a random 5-digit number, which has not been used in the last three times, including the temporary PIN received in the SMS and does not start with “0”.
PIN Reset by Dialing *247#:
- Dial *247#
- Type 10 and select Reset PIN
- Enter your NID/Passport/Driving License Number that is registered to your bKash Account
- Enter your birth year
- Select a service from last 10 outgoing transactions in 30 days
- Enter the amount before decimal point
You will receive a temporary PIN via SMS in a few moments, which you will need to use within 72 hours to set your preferred PIN by dialing *247# or from the bKash app.
- To set your PIN by dialing *247#, first type 1 and go to the ‘Change PIN’ option from ‘My bKash’.
- From there, go to the ‘Enter Temporary/Old PIN’ option and enter the temporary PIN received in the SMS.
- After that, enter your preferred 5-digit PIN and confirm it again, and your PIN will be set.
